The trip begins
Monday 6th April
2PM Flight Departing Auckland to San Fran (first time flying via America !!) then onto London, Heathrow arriving 7:30am Tuesday 7th UK time.
Of course airports are always an emotional place haha, with plenty of tears shed at the departure gate leaving Mum and Dad for 6 months I then set off on my trip.
First time flying with United Airlines via San Fran and it was a very pleasant trip, the first leg 12 ½ Hours with a 6 hour layover in San Fran Airport onto a 10 hour flight to London.
Greeted in London airport by my Aunty and Uncle, it just felt like being at my second home again.
A few hours travel back to Bingham via car and I got to see “buddy” again.
Buddy is my Citroen Relay Camper Van, I’ll give you a full tour of Buddy at a later date.
It was the warmest day of 2026 for the UK reaching a high of 22 degrees so of course a walk to stretch out the legs and enjoy an ice cream with my cousin Ruby.
Wednesday I spent the day with Uncle Robert getting Buddy ready for the road trip.
Oil and filter change, new cabin filter and a hour of working out how to reset the service interval haha
Flushed the water system out, refilled the gas bottle and gave everything a check over
All set ready to go !
